IP Converge Data Center, Inc. (IP-Converge) has expanded its data center operations to a new facility in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Taguig to meet the country’s increasing demand for data center co-location services.
Ushering in the “Cloud Age” in the Philippines, IP-Converge is one of the country’s prime movers of Cloud Computing, offering a full suite of Cloud solutions, from Infrastructure-as-a-Service operating in its telco-grade data centers, to Platform-as-a-Service and Software-as-a-Service through its partnerships with world-leaders in the Cloud Computing space.
IP-Converge President Reynaldo R. Huergas says, “Cloud Computing will soon be a standard model for business operations in the Philippines. Through this, enterprises will see increased productivity, cost savings, faster time to market, and the leverage needed to be at par with global players.”
Cloud computing is the delivery of applications, infrastructure, or computing platforms as a service utilizing shared data center resources, rather than as a product. It enables users to access and subscribe to such services, anytime, anywhere, over the Internet.
The state-of-the-art facility dubbed “IPC Data Center BGC” is an expansion of IP-Converge’s first Internet Data Center located in RCBC Plaza, Makati City.
“This expansion is a testament to how more and more enterprises are starting to see the benefits of data center co-location”, Huergas says. “From businesses that rely on private cloud systems for internal operations, to providers of public cloud services like social media and e-commerce, and companies requiring worry-free disaster recovery contingencies, data center co-location is the best way to keep operations stable, secure and cost-efficient”, he adds.
Huergas also harped on the facility’s strategic location: “Bonifacio Global City is proving to be the next big central business district in the country, with major multinational corporations setting up offices in the area.”
Both of IP-Converge’s data centers are telco-grade, carrier-neutral facilities that feature full infrastructure and telecommunications redundancy. In addition, the company is certified for ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management Systems, and is in the process of acquiring its ISO 27001:2005 Information Security Management Systems certification.
“Organizations can rely on our data centers to ensure smooth operations and continued performance of their mission-critical IT systems, data and applications – 24 x 7”, Huergas says. “With our expansion facility now operational, we can serve more customers and provide them the right services to achieve their business goals faster.”

IP-Converge, the country’s first and only publicly-listed Internet Data Center and Cloud Services Provider (PSE:’CLOUD’), is helping set the stage for a cloud-based Philippines, ensuring that local enterprises, especially small and medium enterprises (SMEs), can and will take advantage of this next biggest thing in IT today.
Through its cloudvocacy campaign dubbed “Think Out Cloud” recently launched in Makati City, IP-Converge seeks to widen awareness on cloud computing among PH enterprises. Said IP-Converge President Rene Huergas, “By Thinking Out Cloud, and acknowledging the many benefits of cloud computing, CEOs will realize how their businesses can achieve higher productivity and significant savings.”
Present during IP-Converge’s press briefing were executives from one of its partners in cloud computing, Microsoft Philippines. “Our partnership with Microsoft enables us to offer enterprises top of the line cloud-based business solutions right from our own Internet Data Center” says Huergas. “With Microsoft solutions running on our infrastructure, users get the best “hybrid” cloud offering they can find locally.”
Think Out Cloud also heralds the company’s efforts to make more accessible, especially to SMEs, its value-driven solutions and services by offering them on the cloud.
Said Huergas, “We believe that cloud computing will be standard model for business operations in the future.” Market research firm IDC forecasted a 27 percent growth in public IT cloud services by the year 2014. “This is why we want it to be accessible to the most number of Filipinos and local enterprises.”
Known for their “boutique approach,” IP-Converge also offers products in pay-as-you-use scheme, making their services affordable especially for SMEs because they only need to pay for the services that they need.
“It has always been IP-Converge’s vision to empower Philippine businesses, both big and small, and make them leaders in their own industries,” he said.
IP-Converge is one of the IT companies today that are in the best position to offer cloud services in the country, being currently peered with major domestic and international Internet exchanges in the Asia Pacific.
Said Huergas, “Philippines stands to gain from the cloud migration. It will create a business landscape where companies will take to tapping capex-free business solutions that enable them to be more flexible, cost efficient and globally competitive.”

IP Converge Data Center Inc., the country’s first and only publicly listed data center and cloud services provider, and Salesforce.com, world leader in on-demand business services and customer relationship management (CRM), recently held the first session of its Business Growth mini-seminar series for the year at the Tower Club in Makati City.
Entitled “3 Simple Ways to Business Growth”, the seminar provides insights into how cloud computing and Salesforce.com can help companies grow their business. Resource speakers from both IP-Converge and Salesforce.com presented day-to-day sales and marketing scenarios and how a superior CRM tool such as Salesforce.com makes the sales and marketing operations more efficient by increasing employee productivity, helping companies generate quality leads and enabling sales to better manage their customers.
“We are very excited to launch this year’s series of Business Growth seminars”, says Mimi Dizon, IP-Converge Director for Business Development for CRM. “We’ve done numerous seminars in previous years that tackle relevant market and business situations and how companies can adopt and be more agile using Salesforce.com. This time, focus is on business growth and how Safesforce.com’s suite of cloud applications can enable customers to manage and share all of their sales, support, marketing and partner information on-demand.”
According to Dizon, with these Business Growth seminars, companies, whether large or small should have access to world class technology to enable business growth. “Salesforce CRM gives business owners better control and visibility over practically every facet of their business. This in turn, translates to significant improvement in lead generation, sales and customer satisfaction which results to revenue growth,” she adds.
The seminar is free of charge and targets professionals and executives who wish to find out how to unlock the power of Cloud Computing to enhance their overall work and management experience.
CRM is a business strategy that blends processes, people, and technology to help companies attract sales prospects, convert them into customers, and keep existing customers satisfied and loyal. The goal of CRM is to learn as much as possible about each customer’s attitudes, needs, and behavior to provide them optimal service and retain the relationship. Because business success is all about customers and their needs, it’s difficult for companies to achieve and maintain leadership and profitability without a sustained focus on CRM.
Salesforce.com is the market and technology leader in on-demand business services. In 2007, the company sought expansion in Southeast Asia and partnered with the Philippines’ premiere proponent of cloud computing, IP-Converge.
IP-Converge is the only Salesforce.com Select Consulting Partner in the Philippines and has received Salesforce.com’s Customer Satisfaction award for ASEAN 2 years in a row. Aside from its coverage of the local market, the company has had significant experience in supporting Salesforce.com customers in neighboring Southeast Asian nations as well.

IT&T solutions provider IP Converge Data Center (IP-Converge) announced today that it has been honored with the title of Top Partner for ASEAN 2008 by world leader in Enterprise Cloud Computing and CRM, salesforce.com. This award was presented during the salesforce.com ASEAN Partner Summit at Pan Pacific Hotel in Singapore, represents the highest achievement in sales for the ASEAN market for the year ending January 2009.
More than 60% of salesforce.com licenses sold by IP-Converge last year were locally sourced, as opposed to being passed on by salesforce.com. The Top Partner award recognizes IP-Converge’s exemplary performance and success in actively expanding salesforce.com’s presence in the Philippines.
“IP-Converge has shown great aptitude in integrating salesforce.com with companies’ mission-critical applications within a short amount of time,” says Andrew Knott, VP Marketing for Asia Pacific. “We anticipate a higher rate of adoption of salesforce.com applications in the Philippines this year and a steady migration to cloud computing as companies learn more about the valuable contribution it can make towards growing their business.”
Taken into account in determining the Top Partner for ASEAN 2008 were total number of licenses and services sold from February 2008 to January 2009 for Salesforce CRM, Force.com (Platform as a Service), the AppExchange marketplace and Community (community and training). IP-Converge emerged as the top selling partner for fiscal year 2008.
“This is an important milestone for us. Our partnership with salesforce.com began less than three years ago and now we are leading the region in license sales and services execution,” said Reynaldo Huergas, President of IP-Converge.
“This achievement is a testament to our claims that cloud computing is set to become the preferred business model – it also fits well with our plans for expanding our scope to provide services beyond the ASEAN.”
The Philippines, where more than 90% of business is SME, is a key market for salesforce.com. IP-Converge, the IT and telecommunications subsidiary of publicly listed IPVG Corp., has signed an agreement for the distribution of Interactive Intelligence all-in-one IP communications software solutions to contact centers and enterprise businesses throughout the Philippines.
“The Philippines remains to be the preferred location for contact center outsourcing due to its lower operational costs and highly-skilled workforce. Our partnership with Interactive Intelligence, with its excellent track record in providing all-in-one IP communications software solutions, further strengthens our IPC VOICES offering to contact centers, creating the most innovative and reliable solutions available in the market,” said Percival C. de los Reyes, IP-Converge senior vice-president for managed data services.
“A move to unified communications is an important step to ensure our country’s competitive edge in the outsourcing arena and at the same time help customers increase operational efficiency at reduced costs”, de los Reyes continued.
Simon Lee, Interactive Intelligence regional general manager for Asia, says: “Our more than a decade of application development experience, combined with the network infrastructure specialization and local presence that IP-Converge brings, will ensure customers throughout the Philippines get the kind of solutions that best fit their unique technical and operational needs. And as a key Asia Pacific growth market, the Philippines also represents a prime opportunity to receive the benefits a unified IP contact center solution provides.”
The Philippines, along with India, Malaysia and China, contributed more than 54% of the total Asia Pacific contact center outsourcing market, estimated at US$ 13.7 billion in 2008, according to Frost & Sullivan‘s “Contact Center Outsourcing Trends in the Asia Pacific Market, 2008-2011″ report, published in February 2009.
The report also indicated that “the Philippines will see relatively heightened [IP] adoption,” and that “unified communications in the contact center is emerging as a key theme.”
“The Interactive Intelligence software will give our contact center customers phased migration to IP, while enjoying the operational benefits and cost-efficiency of a truly unified platform,” de los Reyes said. “Adding our personalized ’boutique’ approach to customers, these contact centers will receive maximum return on investment, while establishing competitive differentiation by providing better customer service.”
In 1997, Interactive Intelligence released its single-platform, all-in-one communications software suite, Customer Interaction Center (CIC), to eliminate the cost and complexity introduced by multipoint products. CIC provides multi-channel contact center automation and enterprise IP telephony functionality, including SIP-based switching; multi-channel routing and queuing; outbound/blended dialling; presence management; multi-channel quality monitoring; workforce management; interactive voice response; unified messaging; Web self-service; e-mail response and knowledge management; and communications-based process automation.
Backed by more than 3,000 customers worldwide — including successful multinational installations at companies such as Fujitsu, Oracle and RIM – , Interactive Intelligence is now a proven provider of all-in-one IP communications software solutions that is consistently named a ‘top ten’ global contact center vendor by industry analysts such as Datamonitor, Frost & Sullivan and Gartner.
