Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity announced the promotion of John Parikh to director of product management for its Liebert products in Asia.

This newly created role brings product management and pre-sales technical services together for the first time. “The centralized tech services (CTS) function gives me a very direct access to what our customers are dealing with in a very detailed sense,” says Parikh. “All projects are course through CTS to ensure best practice and best TCO concepts prevail but at the same time I get to see hundreds if not thousands of variations on infrastructure challenges from around Asia. This puts me in a very well informed position from a product development and management perspective.”

According to Parikh businesses are presented with numerous IT solutions available yet are still challenged in choosing the right match for their problem. “Organizations need to identify first the critical areas of the business they want to improve. Once that’s been determined, they can work with closely with a solution provider to determine technologies and initiatives that are best suited to help their company achieve better outcomes,” says Parikh.

With today’s market conditions and cost-cutting measures, the demands to do more with less is clearly evident in many IT organizations. Parikh says that Emerson has energy-efficient products and services that can address this challenge. ”Our commitment to reducing energy consumption is best illustrated via our Energy Logic framework, where applied in total, a reduction in data center energy consumption of over 50% is achievable,” says Parikh. “In addition to this, we have been working with customers on a new measure for infrastructure efficiency called Compute Units per Second (CUPS), that really helps customers model the benefits (and pitfalls) of different IT infrastructure approaches.”

Emerson’s product portfolio includes uninterruptible power supply systems, surge suppression, precision cooling, racks and enclosures and monitoring technologies and service that businesses rely on to manage growth and realize cost and operational efficiencies.

Parikh has more than 18 years of experience in product management, marketing and technical development. He has a master’s degree in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management. He is based in the Philippines.

Emerson Network Power, a business of Emerson and the global leader in enabling Business-Critical Continuity announced the promotion of Pär Larsson to technical director for the DC power business (also known as Energy Systems) in Asia.

In this role, he will be responsible for driving the development of the DC power solutions portfolio and accelerating the company’s market leadership in the telecom space. “I believe in our capability in solving problems both quickly and comprehensively,” said Larsson. “When it comes to taking care of our customers, I make sure that the performance of our technical and services side are closely related to our customers’ requirement.”

Larsson has been with the company for almost 10 years. Prior to joining Emerson Network Power, he was the DC power specialist for Ericsson in Sweden, the USA, China and the Philippines, and business line manager for technical support and service in the Southeast Asia region.

“Over the past few months, telecom operators have been increasing their efforts to improve customer experience and raise their operational efficiency levels to achieve true economies of scale,” observed Larsson.

He adds that the tough competition is making telecom operators realize that they need to retain subscribers through enhanced customer services such as deploying next-generation, high-speed networks.

“These network developments require supporting infrastructure. Telcos need to boost their power infrastructure to meet broadband and wireless service demand,” said Larsson.  “About 50% of a network operator’s OPEX come from power consumption alone and about 10% of that power is wasted due to power conversion inefficiency.”

He said that Emerson Network Power has developed a number of energy-efficient solutions that reduce total cost of ownership while at the same time making communication technology more accessible to more people. “Our products and solutions are not only about maximizing the performance of the equipment; we also focus on the reliability and availability of the systems which will benefit our customers technically and financially. We are offering high efficiency rectifiers for DC power solutions which will go with our customers’ plans to deploy next-generation networks.”

One of Fortune’s most admired companies, Emerson is an established name in network reliability. It provides operators and OEMs stability through its most reliable Netsure DC power platform – over a million Netsure systems are in the field.  This year, the company launched the industry’s most energy-efficient rectifier – the eSure rectifier – that solves customers’ toughest problems Backwards compatible with existing Netsure 701 equipment, the eSure has an efficiency rating approaching 97 percent and provides cost-saving benefits without compromising reliability

Larsson has a bachelor’s degree in telecom and electrical engineering from the TGÖ, Sweden. He is based in Australia.
