The IP e-Games Portal was developed and created for the purpose of providing gamers all of the relevant news and update on e-Games titles as well as the one-stop shop to top up, register and log in. For the past year it has integrated social networking sharing features for Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Blog Spot and more.
In an e-mail interview, Janette Toral, President of DigitalFilipino.com and the organizer of its web awards, said that as Filipinos primary Internet activity today is to search and interact through social networks, high quality websites filled with relevant content and its attractiveness for social media sharing influences which websites matter more than the rest.
“This year DigitalFilipino Web Awards in collaboration with Search Profile Index, did a scan of local websites in 50 to 100 categories to create the DigitalFilipino Web Awards – Search Profile Index Top 100 list,” Toral said.
The judging criteria for the awards include search engine competitiveness, ranking on popular category keywords, website traffic stickiness, technical performance and social media engagement.
“What gave (the e-Games site) the edge is the high search engine visibility in terms of links pointing back to the gaming portal (through) Google News Mention and Yahoo Site Explorer,” she said.
Miguel Bauza, IP e-Games VP for Marketing said that winning in the DigitalFilipino.com’s Web Awards 2010 is a technical testament to the ongoing improvements made to the IP e-Games site. The IP e-Games web site is updated regularly and all of its relevant content are tied to all of its social networking sites.
“Our dedicated and innovative web and content teams have made it possible for the IP e-Games site to win this award and made it truly search and share-friendly. Expect more improvements to come,” he said.
