HP drops prices, boosts specs of Envy 13 and 15 notebooks

SAN FRANCISCO – You know those HP Envy 13 and Envy 15 notebooks we were so excited about last year? The ones that look suspiciously like a Macbook Pro, have great hardware and design, have few flaws aside from a very big price sticker? Well, they just got a whole lot more attractive.
The Envy 13 has dropped in price by about $300, and now starts at $1,499. That price gets you a Core 2 Duo SL9300 CPU and Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU. Not much of a change on that model, outside of the reduced price.

The Envy 15 is the one that gets the biggest boost. The starting price has been seriously slashed to $1,299 with a Core i5 CPU (Core i7 CPUs are available, too). The standard graphics card is now the excellent Mobility Radeon HD 5830 with 1GB of RAM, a bit of an improvement over the 4830 in the previous model.

Both systems are available for order today from the HP site.
