D-Link Launches DIR-457U – Pocket Sized 3.75G Router


Philippines – D-Link, the end-to-end computer networking solutions provider for consumers and businesses, today announced the launch of the D-Link.

DIR-457U myPocket 3.75G High-Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA) modem router. Measuring 11cm by 6.5cm and weighing only 103g, the stylish DIR-457U is designed for portability. It works in 3G networks and supports Wi-Fi connectivity. The DIR-457U supports download speeds of up to 7.2Mbps and features a built-in SIM card slot.

“The DIR-457U is designed for today’s mobile user, who demands products which offer high speed wireless connection with portable convenience,” said Mr Desmond Toh, Marketing Director, D-Link International Pte Ltd. “Not only can they create wireless connections on-the-go with the DIR-457U, the integrated microSD card slot extends the usage flexibility of the device by enabling it to be used like a normal thumb drive and allowing the sharing of files.”

Pocket Sized Convenience

With the capability to connect up to 16 wireless clients such as portable computers, phones and game consoles, the Wi-Fi enabled DIR-457 can also function as a USB modem. It features WPA and WPA2 encryption, providing secured and flexible coverage with different frequency support depending on
the internet service provider.

Instant Hotspot

Any meeting room can have internet access with the DIR-457U. Equipped with a built-in lithium ion battery which can be charged using a USB cable, the DIR-457U can turn any location into an instant hotspot, without the need for AC power.

Price & Availability

The DIR-457U myPocket 3.75G HSUPA modem router will be launched in September 2010.
