The software industry has been identified as a priority sector for Philippine development, and the Philippine Software Industry Association (PSIA) is still expecting a 30% growth in revenues this year. Although this is a decrease from 2008′s export revenue growth of 42%, the association is still optimistic that the country will reach its software export revenue target of US$ 1 billion and employing more than 60,000 workers by 2010.
Supply Chain Consulting, a global provider of enterprise software solutions, has equipped its business to engage a long-term commitment to the Philippines. It continues to reach out to the various sectors by launching several initiatives that will promote sustainable development in the country.
Supply Chain Consulting has achieved a growth of 35% in the previous year; however the current economic condition has made the company conservative in its projection for growth as they only expect 20% revenue growth this year. The company remains positive in their revenue forecast due to the P230 million they earned in total revenues in the previous year and they are expecting to reach P280 million this year.
“The financial crisis has incited numerous opportunities for the software industry. At Supply Chain Consulting, we make innovation, provision of high quality software solutions and expert support services a priority. Creating a global footprint for the software industry can increase the revenue of this industry to at least US$ 1.5 billion.” Jan Biezepol, Managing, Supply Chain Consulting, managing director for Asia.
